We can issue a tax receipt for the full amount of the course because we are a federally approved institution.
The Robar Heavy Equipment Operator training program is a five (5) week course scheduled every six (6) weeks to accommodate extra time in case of cancellations due to inclement weather. The course comprises 175 hours on the machines and 25 hours of classroom instruction time and home study credit. This is 200 hours of training.
The Robar Centre offers an entry-level program for individuals who want to learn how to operate heavy equipment to an acceptable level of safety and proficiency in various industrial settings. The program enables individuals, with or without prior experience, to enter the workforce with all of the safety training and machine operating techniques required in this field.
The theory component is designed to deliver a comprehensive understanding of equipment maintenance, heavy equipment system operations, proper walk-around (pre-work inspection) and proper site management, emphasizing the importance of quality and safety in these areas.
The practical component focuses on operating techniques and practices and is conducted in an actual construction site atmosphere. It includes operating six (6) pieces of equipment, including an excavator (large and mini), bulldozer (medium size), backhoe, heavy front-end loader, skid steer (wheeled) and vibrato /compactor with either a smooth drum or a sheep’s foot (rough drum).
Campus tours are available at our 600 Nebo Road location in Hamilton, Ontario. You can drop by during the week or call ahead to meet with a representative. This visit would be beneficial because it would give you an opportunity to tour the facility and view the field and machines.
